St. Clare
ECUMENICAL CATHOLIC COMMUNITY
SACRAMENTAL MINISTRY
We regard the sacraments as special experiences of God's presence and love, alive and active in our midst. God's presence and love are given freely and abundantly, by God to all who will receive them. The evidence from scripture, and early church history, is that Jesus' mission and ministry welcomed all. He did not exclude anyone; in fact, he reached out to the poor, the sick, the marginalized and the outcast.
We do our best at St. Clare to follow the modeling and the teaching of Jesus.
We do not withhold the sacraments from anyone based upon their denominational preference, faith tradition, or personal behavior.
In our view the sacraments, such as the Eucharist, are not a reward for good behavior.
Nor are they to be rationed, given only to those who are in good standing with one group or another. As Jesus welcomed all, we believe that all are welcome at the table of the Lord!
We meet every Sunday to celebrate Eucharist as a community. The sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, Marriage and Anointing are available upon request.
We also have witness legal marriages with same sex couples.
